Sam McCaskill joined Thornton Oliver Keller’s land brokerage team following a highly successful collegiate experience at Boise State University where he played football. Upon graduating, Sam’s experiences at Boise State solidified his decision to make the community his home because of the passion he feels for the area, and the opportunities it has provided him with.
Mentored by Michael Ballantyne, the firm’s partner and one of the area’s most successful land brokers, Sam has gained a significant breadth of commercial real estate brokerage knowledge and is perfecting the nuanced requirements of commercial real estate transactions.
Much of his early success at the firm is attributed to his ability to work closely with each municipality to be efficient throughout the sales process. He has experience in leasing, investments, development projects, and speculative land transactions. His wide range of experiences helps his clients be knowledgeable and well taken care of whether they are buying or selling a property.

Sam is a graduate of Boise State University and received a Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management and Logistics. While he was a student- athlete, he was recognized as a top performer in the classroom and obtained all academic awards presented by the conference. After graduating, he capitalized on an incredible opportunity to play professional football for the Minnesota Vikings where he enjoyed experiencing the game at the most elite level.
HOBBIES & INTERESTS
Sam enjoys spending his time outside of the house. He’s passionate about the area, and takes full advantage of all the recreational activities Idaho has to offer. His Bronco pride keeps him actively involved with the university and student- athlete mentoring as active Vice President of the Varsity B, an organization providing mentorship opportunities to current student athletes and a network for former student athletes once they enter the professional world.
