EXPERIENCEBen Shalz joined TOK Commercial in 2006 as a property manager and became a partner in the firm in 2015. Ben offers an extensive background in financial analysis, risk management, project management, and customer relationships. The property management experience that Ben possesses has afforded him a valuable skill set that includes building operations and maintenance, tenant relations, contract management, lease administration, vendor negotiation, and financial reporting. Ben’s relentless focus on managing his portfolio to achieve his clients’ varied objectives makes him a valuable asset to any property or team he manages. Ben is an innovative professional who is known as an effective, tough, and diplomatic problem-solver. Ben’s current portfolio consists of over 300,000 square feet of commercial real estate. Among those properties managed are University Plaza and the Idaho State Police facility in Meridian. PROFESSIONAL & COMMUNITY ACTIVITIESBen graduated with a B.S. in Management from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs in 1980. He also acquired an M.S. in Logistics at the Air Force Institute of Technology in Dayton, Ohio in 1987 and completed his M.B.A. in Finance at the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business in 2002. Ben was awarded the prestigious Certified Property Manager (CPM®) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) in 2008. He is also a member of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA). FAMILY, HOBBIES & INTERESTSBen and his family enjoy hiking and biking in the beautiful outdoors of Idaho. |
