Experience  

Jerry Van Engen specializes in industrial properties as well as the sale of land and investment properties.  Jerry also holds the title of business development partner and assists in sales trainee mentoring.   Jerry received his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Central University of Iowa.  He attended the USAF Squadron Officer School and the Marine Command & Staff College.

Jerry combines his twenty plus years of sales, marketing and management experience with an unsurpassed dedication to his clients, resulting in superb customer service and satisfaction.  Recognized as an industry expert in the local industrial real estate market, Jerry attracts a wide range of clients from large, national corporations to smaller, local companies.

Jerry is an ardent advocate for his clients and has distinguished himself from his peers since 1996 when he earned a “Top Three Sales Performance” distinction as a rookie.  Jerry’s professional excellence has continued to flourish as he was recently named the Thornton Oliver Keller’s “Salesperson of the Year.”  Jerry aided the brokerage team to its best single-year performance by completing the largest transaction in company history in July 2005.  Jerry’s achievements have also been recognized through Thornton Oliver Keller’s “Top Producer” designation in 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2006, and “Sales Person of the Year“ in 2005 and 2007.

Jerry’s marketing knowledge is built upon years of experience in a variety of industries from his father’s meat packing operation to representing corporate powerhouses such as GTE Sprint Communications, MCI Communications, Kellogg’s and Serta Mattress in management and sales roles.  Jerry is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Air Force where he performed various duties flying five different weapon systems during assignments in forty-four countries, including one combat tour in Vietnam and two combat tours in the Middle East.

Professional and Community Activities

Jerry is a past Idaho Chapter V.P. of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) and an active member of BOMA.  Since 1999, Mr. Van Engen has participated in Boise’s annual BOMA Symposium on six separate occasions as the Industrial Real Estate specialist where he is known for articulating market statistics with unusual flare and often with the aide of “Carnac the Magnificent.”   He is on the board of directors for the Idaho Shakespeare Festival, and also a member of the board of directors for Young Life of Idaho and attends Cole Community Church.

Jerry has resided in the Boise area for over twenty-five years with his wife, Marcia.
